Our Pastor

A Message From Our Pastor

It is my pleasure to be able to serve the Lord here in Alum Creek, West Virginia. God has brought us here for a purpose. We have a rich heritage from the Lord, and it is our goal to pass that on to the next generation. The great need of our area is the Lord. Without Him, we can do nothing, but there is nothing impossible with the Lord.

My life verse is Philippians 1:6, which says, “Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” God has used this verse as a great encouragement for me to just keep trusting the Lord.

If you are in search of a church home, or are just passing through, please accept my invitation to attend our services.

Pastor Daniel Dent was raised on a farm just outside of Spencer, West Virginia. He was raised in a Christian home and was faithfully taken to church as a child. When he was five years old, he received Christ as his Savior after family devotions. It was at Active Christian Teen Camp that God changed his life and he fully surrendered to God’s will. Pastor Dent attended Crown College in Powell, Tennessee where he trained to serve the Lord. While in college, God allowed him to serve in variety of ministries including: bus ministry, Spanish ministry, Sunday school, choir, orchestra, prison ministry, school Bible clubs, publishing, and campus ministry.

At college, he met his wife Christy. After graduation, they were married and the Lord has blessed them with six children. Pastor Dent believes that God has worked to equip him through unconscious preparation for what God has in each step of his life. Pastor Dent accepted the call to become pastor of Independent Missionary Baptist Church of Alum Creek on July 30, 2017. He is looking forward to serving the Lord in Lincoln and Kanawha Counties—and to spread the gospel to the uttermost part of the earth.
